As we wrap up the 2024 year, we are excited to share some highlights of our year and celebrate our accomplishments with you. This year, MORE HEALTH experienced something that we had never done before. We were excited to be the recipient of a Children’s Board of Hillsborough County Lead Grant. Our Healthy and Safe Kids initiative puts our MORE HEALTH instructors in carefully selected Tampa preschools to educate young children, their parents, and early childhood educators about health and safety. Preschool directors, staff, and students have positively welcomed our Week of Wellness program. We are looking forward to continuing and growing the program through 2025. This year, we also added new and skilled instructors to our staff. Our instructors are so important to us as they continually represent and deliver our mission in the community. We are extremely proud of our talented, experienced, and energetic health educators. Unfortunately, we did have a few setbacks. Two back-to-back hurricanes brought school closures, office water damage, and personal hardship to staff. However, in the MORE HEALTH spirit of always wanting to deliver exceptional service, we responded quickly and continued business as usual. We are proud of our achievements and are happy to share our successes with you.

  • Rescheduled 350 elementary and high school classes due to the two hurricanes
  • Created three exciting hands-on preschool lessons
  • Taught over 500 preschool students in 20 select preschools
  • Have presented to almost 152,000 students in Hillsborough, Pinellas, and Pasco counties
  • Hosted, educated, and provided CPR training for under 100 children during our highly sought-after SuperSitters course.
  • Continued distribution of bike helmets to Tampa Bay area students
  • Consistently receive positive comments from area teachers:
    • “the instructor was amazing! So engaging and patient!”
    • “It was perfect! Organized, well-planned, age-appropriate, fun, informative.”
    • “The presentation is EXCELLENT! Thank you for providing this very important life skill for our children.”

THANK YOU to our sponsors and community partners who continue to support us in our endeavor to provide health and safety education to children, teens, & adults. We wish all of you Happy Holidays and look forward to a wonderful New Year.

MORE HEALTH in the Classroom

MORE HEALTH’s Personal Hygiene “Scrubba Bubba” lesson teaches 2nd graders throughout the Tampa Bay area how they will look good and feel good by following these healthy habits. No matter your age, we encourage everyone to practice these personal hygiene habits to ensure a healthy school year for all.

Thanks to sponsors like Muma Children’s Hospital at TGH, Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, and the Hillsborough County Medical Association, we plan to continue offering these much-needed and desired lessons for many years.
