According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, 11,100 consumers were injured and treated in U.S. hospital emergency rooms, and 4 died as a result of direct impact from fireworks in 2016. Children 5 years of age and younger had the highest incidence of injury, followed by young adults aged 20-24. CPSC further states that on average, 250 people go to the emergency room every day with fireworks-related injuries in the month around the July 4th holiday.
