According to the Centers for Disease Control, the use of e-cigarettes is unsafe for kids, teens, and young adults. E-cigarettes are often referred to as e-cigs, vapes, e-hookahs, or vape pens. They may resemble USB flash drives, pens, traditional cigarettes, cigars, or pipes. The CDC reports that since 2014, e-cigarettes have been the most widely used tobacco product among middle and high school students in the United States. Between 2017 and 2018, the number of youth utilizing e-cigarettes increased by 1.5 million! The Food and Drug Administration has already declared that youth vaping has become an epidemic, and several states have passed legislation restricting the devices given recent vaping-related illnesses in our country. Parents can play a pivotal role by getting the facts and talking to your family about vaping!
