January 2019 Newsletter – Let’s Celebrate

Happy 2019! We are thrilled about the opportunity to, once again, provide cutting edge health and safety education to children, teens, and adults in the Tampa Bay area this year.

This year we celebrate a remarkable 30 year anniversary! With the support of founding partner Tampa General Hospital, Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, Tampa Bay Rays, Lightning Foundation, Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office and many others, MORE HEALTH’s lessons have increased in number to an incredible 25 lessons on topics ranging from bones, dental, nutrition and fitness, skin cancer prevention, firearm safety, heart, pedestrian and bicycle safety, and trauma.

During these 30 years we have taught, through our talented and dedicated instructors, over 4 million students one classroom at a time. Beginning as a three year Junior League of Tampa project, MORE HEALTH teaches lessons in Hillsborough, Pinellas, and Pasco Counties and also provides bicycle and pedestrian safety education throughout Florida

We are so grateful for a community of advocates who share our passion for health and safety education. The School Districts have been stellar partners committed not only to students’ academic success, but in recognizing the importance of healthy and safe students. It is through their guidance and expertise that we have developed quality interactive lesson presentations to enhance classroom education provided in schools.

MORE HEALTH would not be here today if not for Tampa General Hospital’s 26 year partnership and John’s Hopkins All Children’s Hospital’s 13 year partnership. Their commitment has been steady and beyond amazing! We welcome additional partners to help us meet the growing needs for health and injury prevention education.
